From the very beginning of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master the talented storyteller has kept fans guessing with rich lore, a diverse cast of characters, and a thrilling plot featuring celestial beings, fiends, and malevolent powers increasing in power within Dol-Makjar.
Note: Revealing details for the latest installment of this adventure are included.
The Combat-Oriented Party Revealed
The latest chapter ended with a dramatic pause and revealed the first table of characters who will split off from the main group to undertake their own adventure, distinct from the remaining groups.
The Soldiers table includes Teor Pridesire (brought to life by the voice actor), the agile character (the talented performer), Tyranny (Whitney Moore), the cleric (Sam), and Kattigan (Robbie).
The Reason for Division
Considering a large ensemble, it was obvious from the outset that keeping everyone at the same party would be impossible.
Hence, the initial installments of this story serve as an Overture, intertwining the characters’ stories before dividing into three distinct groups: Warriors, Planners, and Questers.
What Defines the Combat Party
According to the Dungeon Master, the warrior group is for players who are drawn to a traditionally charged fight-heavy story mode where non-violent answers are rare.
Initially, figures such as the squeamish cleric Wicander might appear out of place, but the developments of episode 3 make it clear why these five characters are best suited for the combat party.
Why They Must Go
First, the party knows exactly where to go next after a violent initial meeting with The Crow Keepers.
Casimir of the deceased character—whose demise kicked off the story’s plot—exploited the enemy for his own means, invading the secret base, assaulting Thimble, and swiping all the magical artifacts to sell off.
The antagonist then settled his debts and fled to a Halovar stronghouse in the remote area, north of the urban center, with Teor’s brother close behind.
Individual Reasons
Additionally, each member has a personal reason to exit Dol-Makjar:
- The rogue, as the close ally and closest confidant, wants retribution.
- The adventurer has experience in the northern area and cautions that it is a nasty place.
- The strong character and The cleric, having resisted his house’s orders to eliminate the fighter and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
- However, their position as prominent individuals in House Halovar could assist the group access areas they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Additionally, The fighter swore a unbreakable promise to The savior for his deliverance and will now go with him everywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
Lastly, all of them are hunted by the rulers that rule Dol-Makjar for a variety of reasons, making lingering locally no longer safe:
- The agile adventurer and The character are known criminals.
- Tyranny and The healer defied the powerful family and the army of fiends they are aligned with.
- Teor is marked for death by the clan.
This leaves them few options but to travel to Timmony in pursuit of the traitor.
Future Episodes
According to the recent installment’s Cooldown, we discover that the combat party will not appear in the upcoming installment, leaving the remaining eight cast members to round up the Seekers and Strategists parties.
Viewers can look forward to learning which players will be where in the story’s final introductory chapter, streaming live on October 24.
